Education for Organisations

Group Education Packages

As the leading body for Lifestyle Medicine representation in Australia and New Zealand, The Australasian Society of Lifestyle Medicine (ASLM) can help up-skill your employees in Lifestyle Medicine by tailoring an education package for your organisation.

The packages on offer have been created for Primary Health Networks, Primary Health Organisations, Local Health Districts, and workplace wellbeing programs, to support professionals in joining and supporting the LM movement, and offer ongoing learning through ASLM and its representatives.

The packages include self-directed online courses, practitioner resources and handouts, as well as members-only exclusive live learning and networking opportunities such as discounted conference prices and live member events.

Package features

Courses

ASLM courses have been created by experts in the field. Courses have been chosen for ASLM education packages and are vital to understanding the foundations of LM as relevant to practitioners. These include Lifestyle Medicine First Aid (the essential course in LM) and Performance Coaching in Clinical Practice (to help practitioners create impact in every consultation).

ASLM Membership

Membership offers practitioners invaluable networking opportunities through events, meet-ups and member activities. Additionally, members will get heavily discounted or free webinar access to a range of educational events throughout the year.

Lifestyle Medicine Conference

The Annual Lifestyle Medicine Conference presents the latest evidence for Lifestyle Medicine in chronic disease treatment, and how to implement it in practice. With an emphasis on practical learning, panel discussions, and providing real-world skills, the conference connects delegates with like-minded professionals and will reignite your passion for healthcare.

Shared Medical Appointments Training

ASLM is a long-time proponent for Shared Medical Appointments (SMAs). We believe SMAs, Programmed SMAs and Medical Yarn Ups (SMAs for Indigenous Australians) have the potential to completely transform our healthcare system, particularly in relation to the prevention, management, and possible reversal of chronic disease.

There is in-depth research on the effectiveness and adherence of those who take up SMAs. Additionally, they support practitioners in providing a more efficient and effective practice.

SMA training can be offered in person to each individual clinic/group interested. In this we offer professional development training for health professionals wanting to learn how to conduct SMAs and PSMAs.

All CPD workshops are hosted by trained SMA facilitators and guest practitioners (where possible) and provide participants with SMA planning templates, pre-disposing activities, and ongoing access to online training and facilitator materials. Ongoing access to the online SMA training is also provided.
