From Plate to Practice: Culinary Nutrition in Type 2 Diabetes Management
Friday 13 November
Presenters: Dr Joanna McMillan and A/Prof Emma Stirling and the Culinary Nutrition Team from Australian Catholic University
Back by popular demand, the Culinary Medicine Masterclass returns with a practical exploration of how food-based approaches can support the prevention and management of type 2 diabetes.
This interactive, hands-on workshop will explore the rapidly growing field of culinary medicine, combining the latest evidence in nutrition and lifestyle medicine with practical cooking and meal planning strategies that can be applied across a range of healthcare settings.
Learn from leading experts as they examine current evidence for dietary approaches to glycaemic control and metabolic health, including the role of Mediterranean-style dietary patterns, behaviour change strategies, and the integration of nutrition within contemporary diabetes care.
The workshop will then move from theory into practice through an applied case study and hands-on cooking experience, where participants will explore flavourful, culturally adaptable meal approaches designed to support long-term health outcomes.
Suitable for all health and wellbeing professionals with an interest in lifestyle medicine, culinary medicine, nutrition, and chronic disease prevention and management.
Places are strictly limited.
