Roni speaking at LM22

Roni Beauchamp appointed as ASLM’s new CEO

It is with great excitement and anticipation that the Australasian Society of Lifestyle Medicine (ASLM) announces the appointment of Roni (Veronica) Beauchamp as our new Chief Executive Officer.

We feel so fortunate to have Roni step into this role and look forward to seeing the Lifestyle Medicine movement break new ground in Australia and New Zealand under her guidance.

“I welcome the challenge in continuing to grow the movement alongside our members. In meeting many of those who relate to and practice the passion behind LM at this year’s conference, and with the support of the remarkable team that has been built at ASLM, I’m thrilled to be the common denominator between us to Develop, Disrupt, Drive, and Deliver what we know is so important for a healthier Australia and New Zealand.” (Roni Beauchamp)

In addition to the appointment of our new CEO, ASLM welcomed four new Board members on 29th May 2022: Jenny Rowe, Amelia Twiss, Professor Catherine Itsiopoulos, and Dr Jenny Brockis. We look forward to working with them and all current Board members to establish Lifestyle Medicine as central to health and wellbeing, medicine, healthcare, and health policy in Australasia.

Enormous thanks must go to past Board members Dr Chris Ganora, Dr Flavia Fayet-Moore, Dr Cheryl Wilson, Dr Kate Gregorevic, Prof Garry Egger and Prof R.V. (Bob) Morgan, for their many years of service on the ASLM Board and commitment to the Australasian Lifestyle Medicine movement. We are irrevocably grateful, and proud to now honour Prof Garry Egger and Prof R.V. (Bob) Morgan as trusted Elders and knowledge-keepers.

Finally, it goes without saying that we are profoundly grateful for the leadership of Stephen Penman, who has been our Executive Director for the past 7 years, and a fierce pioneer of Lifestyle Medicine.

We are excited to have ambitious visions and goals for the coming years. Your continued excitement, collaboration, expertise, and engagement will support ASLM in achieving these and spreading the important messages of the Lifestyle Medicine movement.
