GLP-1 Agonists in Practice: A Lifestyle Medicine Approach
Wednesday 12 November 2025 | 7:00pm-8:30pm AEDT (6.00pm-7.30pm AEST / 9.00pm-10.30pm NZDT)
Prescriptions for GLP-1 agonist medications are rapidly increasing for weight loss and diabetes. Yet their long-term effectiveness and safety rely on more than medication alone – they require concurrent, whole-of-person lifestyle strategies.
This webinar will equip health professionals to integrate nutrition, physical activity, and behavioural support alongside prescribing, ensuring sustained outcomes and reduced reliance on medication.
Join Dr Sam Manger (GP), Lily Henderson (NZRD), and Lucy Ashby (AEP) as they explore how Lifestyle Medicine principles can optimise care for patients using GLP-1 therapies.
- Dr Manger will discuss GP considerations around prescribing, monitoring, and broader Lifestyle Medicine domains.
- Lily Henderson will highlight nutrition concerns and dietary strategies.
- Lucy Ashby will share exercise recommendations to preserve muscle mass and improve long-term results.
Together, they’ll also examine behaviour change strategies, offering practical, evidence-based approaches to support sustainable weight management and holistic care.
Includes 15 minutes for live Q&A.
